Fire Dog Lake: Demand the Obama Administration Release the Execution Memos

For all of you who think only conservatives are upset about the issues related to some of the legislation our congress has passed which violate our first amendment rights and our constitutional rights, think again.  Here is something which was started by a progressive group, and it is well written and to the point....................and I can't believe I am saying this but I agree with what they are saying and doing.

 

President Obama feels your Constitutional right to "due process" can be what ever secret processes he makes up.

US Attorney General Eric Holder recently reiterated the administration's support for their controversial program of secretly targeting US citizens for execution without notifying them of the accusations against them, officially charging them with a crime or offering them the opportunity to respond. Since the whole world is a battlefield in the vague 'war on terror,' the only due-process afforded to someone who has been targeted for extrajudicial execution is a secret 'review' by the executive branch.

Just as the public demanded the release of the Bush Administration's Torture Memos to expose the ludicrous rationale behind their secret torture program, we too must demand to know the legal rationale for a program that allows our president to unilaterally choose to deprive someone of life and liberty - without even being told they are charged with a crime.

Holder's speech was a cheap attempt to feign transparency without actually releasing the legal memos that define the administration's execution policy. We need your help to demand the Obama administration release the legal memos that purport to justify this unprecedented assassination program. President Obama and Attorney General Holder:

Americans deserve the right the know the full, legal basis for a program to secretly target U.S. citizens for execution without notifying them, charging them with a crime or giving them the opportunity to respond. This information must be made available so there can be an open, public debate.

We, the undersigned, demand the release of any and all legal memos pertaining to this program to secretly target and execute American citizens immediately.
