21 Days until Nov 2: I am the Other Woman

Yesterday Meg Whitman, candidate for Governor of California, received a huge sucker punch from her opponent, Jerry Brown. He called her a dirty name that rhymes with “bore” (like him) and starts with a “w.” You would think the women would rally around Meg but oh how wrong you are.

The National Association for Women (NOW) threw their support to her opponent! Check out more about this story at http://hotair.com/archives/2010/10/09/now-endorses-brown-within-hou...

I grew up in the 60’s and graduated from high school in the early 70’s. NOW was established during my formative teenage years and their influence on my life was big. I loved that they wanted to free women from oppression in business, schools, the military, their conservative families and any other place where women were second class. Growing up without a mother and under the thumb of a strict father, I enjoyed listening to their ideas. I believed I would grow up to be like them and be free from the struggles of a teenage girl under the rule of a horribly conservative father!

That never happened. Instead my father’s roots deep inside of me kept me on a principled path of the Conservative Woman – the other women’s movement in America. The quiet movement – too quiet I might add!

The Other Women in America …

…watched as liberal women burned their bras and posed nude on beaches to express their freedoms

...continued to love their friends as they headed to abortion clinics to get rid of a problem in their life

…married her high school sweetheart while the liberal women experienced the sexual revolution with many partners

…waited to have their children until after marriage

…raised their children to understand rules and consequences

…went back to work and became successful women in the classroom, the office, or the boardroom

…kept quiet while her liberal friends made all the noise and eradicated the moral foundation of our country.

I am ashamed to call myself “the other woman” because I allowed the extreme-mean women to take over my country. Their voices were loud and I was busy and did not have time to respond to their sanctimonious words. I thought they would grow up and get a life but they didn’t. They became mean-spirited lobbyists, corrupt politicians and angry women.

Because I didn’t speak up, the world thought they represented me. They didn’t then, they don’t NOW and I’m sick of letting them have the podium.

Another example of extreme-mean women syndrome happened last Thursday. Emily’s List president, Stephanie Schriock went after House Minority Leader John Boehner in a speech to the Women’s National Democratic Club. She warned that the number of women in Congress might drop in November and “empower a party that believes women belong in the kitchen.”

Kathryn Lopez of National Review Online asked for a comment from us on Ms. Schriock’s claims. Here’s what we gave her:

“It’s not the number of women in Congress Ms. Schriock is really worried about. It’s the number of women with Nancy Pelosi’s behaviors that she wants to keep there. The women like Nancy are behind the liberal policies that have just about ruined this country.

And, contrary to what Ms. Schriock wants you to believe, women have become more involved in politics in the last two years than they ever have. The Tea Party Movement is a great example of this.

Women who were in the kitchen, on the soccer fields and in the boardrooms have stood up and said “Enough.”

These women are now challenging the other women to a different way of running our country. America’s women want a country that is financially sound and is safe from terrorism and attacks on our homeland.

Women want to be led by common sense and we are going to vote for that on Nov 2. And, by the way, a lot of those who will be heading to DC will be new women with those common sense ideas and they will be happy to collaborate with John Boehner on righting the country and securing Liberty for all.”

The Other Women in America are coming into their own. We may be viewed as crazy by the crazies on the left but they’ve had their time and it’s our time now.

Some action items for today:

1. WATCH: This tribute to The Other Women: The Rocking ladies of the Right. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36H8_gA_WUs&feature=fvw

2. THANK YOUR CONSERVATIVE FRIEND: Many conservatives have been sounding the alarm for a long time. Many of us ignored them. They deserve a “You Tried to Tell Us” acknowledgement. This will encourage them to continue the work they started.

3. SEND A MESSAGE: Let’s have some fun. Send Jerry Brown a bar of soap and tell him it’s not nice to use bad language. The Other Women raised their children better than that! Let his campaign office have some fun opening up packages of soap thinking they are getting checks for the campaign! Here’s the address: Brown for Governor 2010, 291 3rd St., Oakland, CA 94607

To be fair to Tamara ,I also have to call John out on this exact same thing. What you have said here is all fine and good, and I agree accountability is a big thing, but if you are really so concerned with unions and the "pox" that they are, then why the plug for Sink just 2 months ago? There is no way you are going to get her to do anything that goes against unions. And on that subject back then you did not seem to be concerned that Sink's platform doesn't even remotely resemble tea party positions. You asked for the tea party to give her a look and consider voting for her.And there was no talk of "If you assume the only choice is the other party, then you have no choices at all."
You stood firm in your choice of the other party when you could have chosen either a vote for your party ( which was libertarian 2 months ago) or no vote at all.
Of course you said that voting for your party would be a wasted vote because he had no chance of winning.
So aren't you following the same "folly" that you are arguing against and accusing the people here of?

Who asked you to rally? I see no mention of her in Billies post other than the reference to the soap being sent to Jerry Brown.
And if your going to lecture me on the credentials (or supposed lack thereof)of Meg Whitman then obviously you must have thought that I was endorsing her somehow. If you thought otherwise there would be no need for your explanation of how she is not "one of us" . I don't know enough about her to make any judgements and really she is of minimal concern to me because I live here and she lives and works in Cali.
And although off topic for this particular board every supposed policy of Meg's that you have listed as BAD is a known position of
Alex Sink, the candidate you said you would vote for in the general on another blog in August.
This seems to be extremely inconsistant. Is it not?

On the one hand you excoriate Meg while in your posts for Alex, who holds many more hardcore left veiws ,you find that O.k. or even overlook them.
Unions Bad for Meg,
Unions Good for Alex.
NOW Bad for Meg,
NOW Just fine for Alex.
Pro-choice, and public assistance for abortions,
BAD for Meg
but O.K. for Alex.
And I don't remember Alex Sink getting an NRA endorsement do you?
A lets not forget Climate change legislation ...
this is what YOU had to say about Alex and her belief in the economy wrecking global warming theory
"I really don't care who endorses her. I don't care that she believes in climate change; doesn't everyone? "
and with Meg on that same subject, you're alot less impressed.

I find it odd that you can have absolute revulsion with these policies in one candidate while you support another who is advocating those and even more leftwing policies.

Tracy, please don't misunderstand me. I never thought you or anyone was endorsing Meg Whitman. And, I started my post by stating that your link was spot on. My main point, how inartfullly posted, is this: she may be a woman, but she is no friend to the Tea Party or its beliefs. I won't rally around Meg Whitman just because she's a woman. She's got more NOW credentials than Tea Party credentials. Jerry Brown is a buffoon, but so what? Let those two go at each other's throats until the cows come home.

Tamara, a question for you, Did I in ANY of my posts endorse anyone?
My first post here was talking about Emily's List and their endorsement of Alex Sink,my next post a play on words and the last post an article which I thought would be interesting to post as an example of cuts that can and SHOULD be made. Its ridiculous to pay someone half a million for vacation days ..period.No wonder Cali is a basket case.
Bottom line , I'm not a California voter ...if you want to influence that race you are singing to the wrong choir.
Also the original intent of this blog was not endorsement,it was discusiing NOW and women in politics with Billie asking to send soap to Jerry Brown for his case of "potty mouth".I still have yet to see the supposed endorsement of Meg that has seemed to stir so much controversy.

Tracy, if elected, Meg Whitman may cut the waste you posted in your link, which of course is great for the state of Callifornia. However, given the fact that she is beholden to the law enforcement unions, expect for exceptions to be carved out for them. i think that was the point of brown's comment. funny coming from him. he's been bought off by every other union in the state. so, who's the bigger whore here? and i mean that in the nicest possible way. i'd hate to be a voter in the state of california right now. Meg Whitman is no friend to Californians: she is opposing Proposition 23, which would suspend California's global warming laws until the economy improves. She opposes it? she's also pro-choice and for assistance for poor people to get abortions. AND, she's for handgun restrictions. Sorry guys. She is NOT one of us. I don't support jerry brown either, but I DO NOT support her or her beliefs, and i don't think we should be wasting any more time on her on this website.

Sort of O.T. but here's some waste she needs to cut in Cali if she is elected...

John, walking away from candidates sounds great! Except, where are you going to walk TO?? Again, are you saying it is better to support Jerry Brown than Meg Whitman? Also keep in mind there will NEVER be a perfect candidate in any race - Jesus isn't on the ballot.

The only reason the GOP became so liberal is because conservatives drifted off looking for greener grass on the other side of some mysterious, nonexistent fence. If you leave your house vacant with the front door open for a year and come back find squatters in it, don't complain. If you as a conservative leave a conservative organization and create a "vacuum", don't complain when it fills up with birds from other nests. The problem is not with the GOP platform, the problem is with the leaders in the GOP - and that can be fixed, but not if conservatives keep jumping ship. And the solution is also not sitting around pointing fingers and complaining either.

So John what is the choice? Vote for Jerry Brown? And you must be a libertarian. They are the only ones who talk about "no difference in the two parties".

My thoughts have been the same as yours! I'm glad to say I finally woke up and glad we have a voice out there. Hope the ranks of "Other Women in America" continues to grow and is heard loud and clear over the voices that have done so much damage to this country.
