DESCRIPTION:The JEDC (Jacksonville Economic Development Commission) me
 ets tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM.\nOn the agenda will be the following 
 items (have also included info about them)\nOur outgoing Mayor has pro
 posed to the tune of over $6 million of our tax dollars that we the ta
 xpayers buy Everbank's relocation of 800 employees to one of Downtown'
 s vacant highrises. The funds of which $2.75 million goes directly int
 o Everbank's hands to pay for quote \"leasing costs\" come from JEDC.\
 n\nAnother $3.25 million dollars is to build a parking garage so Everb
 ank can park presumably for free. Is this Toney Sleiman's garage? It i
 s not, it is another concession to Everbank. Who will this benefit? Of
  course Everbank, but who else? First Coast News interviewed a hot dog
  vendor who said (I paraphrase) \"it will be good for my business but 
 I don't think taxpayer dollars should be used.\" This is a private bus
 iness deal between landlord and a potential new tenant, no interferenc
 e is necessary from Government and the Government is damaging the exis
 ting landlord by putting this \"backroom\" deal together.\nThe 4 bills
  of concern are as follows:\nThe 4 Bills for Everbank 11-365, 366,368,
 369, giving the corp. welfare. \nAnother Bill 367 is an amendment tha
 t will pay over due Bills to the Jags we,re not responsible for and pr
 oof of another bad contract and manipulate lease for the Gatorbowl (Ja
 gs) signage.\nBill 367 is acquisition of mass quantities of land for a
  new bus terminal free to JTA at tax payers expense.\nThese 4 new bill
 s for Everbank only require 2 readings as per CC Rules. They were sque
 ezed in on a blue sheet last CC meeting so that is the first reading. 
 They were very conniving on their timing. RULE 3.305 LEGISLATION REQUI
 RING ONLY TWO READINGS (c) Ordinances approving a qualified target ind
 ustry business or qualified defense contractor incentive, including a 
 Brownfield bonus incentive for new jobs created by a qualified target 
 industry business in a Brownfield area, shall only require two reading
 s, so long as the procedural requirements of general law are met. A co
 py of the proposed ordinance and all pertinent background information 
 shall be provided to the Council Auditor simultaneous to filing with t
 he Legislative Services Division\nTaxpayers have had no opportunity fo
 r input into that private process that has not been done according to 
 statutory procedures and timelines. And the backroom deals appear to b
 e tantamount to knowingly and purposefully operating in secret toward 
 the end of defrauding the taxpayers by forcing them to pay for all, or
