DESCRIPTION:Come join us for our much anticipated April 4th event with
  our guest speaker Carla Miller!  Carla is Jacksonville's only ethics
  officer and she has a lot of interesting information to share with us
 .  Please note this meeting will take place at the Southeast Branch L
 ibrary as I expect a larger crowd than our office can handle.  Please
  try to RSVP, as we will be providing snack type foods and of course, 
 tea.  Here is some information about Carla:\nCarla Miller was appoint
 ed to be the City's Ethics Officer by Mayor Peyton in 2007.  She has 
 worked to train our elected officials in ethics and handles the city's
  \"hotline\", taking hundreds of calls from citizens and employees on 
 ethics matters.\nShe is a Gator and a Seminole, as she received her B.
 A. degree in Criminology from FSU and her law degree from University o
 f Florida.\nAfter law school, Carla was a federal prosecutor here in J
 acksonville and was responsible for political corruption cases--she pr
 osecuted and convicted the President of the Florida Senate for mail fr
 aud and extortion.\nShe has also studied international law in Cambridg
 e, England and is a fellow in government ethics at the UNF Ethics Cent
 er.\nCarla is the founder of City Ethics--an international organizatio
 n involved in ethics in municipalities.  She has worked with the Iraq
 i Governement in anti-corruption and recently, trained and worked with
  the City Council of the District of Columbia.\nShe will be here April
  4th to talk about ethics in Jacksonville government, and what our gro
