SUMMARY:FCTP Arlington Group Monthly Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Lu Coberly and Ted Wendler have volunteered to present a v
ideo \nDO AS I SAY (AND NOT AS I D).   PROFILES IN LIBERAL HYPOCRIS
Y .  NICHOLAS TUCKER; AWARD WINNING DIRECTOR \nPeter Schweizer talked
about his book Do As I Say (Not As I Do): Profiles in Liberal Hypocri
sy, published by Doubleday. In his book he concludes that there is a d
istinct difference between the public policies endorsed by liberals an
d the policies they actually adhere to in their private lives. The aut
hor chronicles what he believes to be a double standard among liberals
such as Michael Moore, Ralph Nader, Noam Chomsky, Barbra Streisand, a
nd Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA) when it comes to issues such as environment
alism, affirmative action, corporate America, and tax cuts for the wea
lthy. He talked about how charges of hypocrisy distort public debate a
nd about the difference in how these charges are applied to liberals a
nd conservatives and reported in the media. He questioned whether libe
ral leaders truly believe the values they espouse. He described exampl
es of conservative hypocrisy that he attributed to human frailty and h
e argued hurt only the individuals involved. He described examples of
liberal hypocrisy for self benefit and argued that liberals propose th
at others follow rules that they themselves find to be detrimental. He
presented examples and statistics of how the actions of liberals cont
radict their statements.\n I am also gathering information on the can
didates who are still in the races for the March elections locally, an
d we would appreciate any additions from members as well.\n \nIf you
have an event or plan you feel our group should implement before the e
lection or you have an idea for a meeting you would like to either imp
lement or see implemented, please bring your suggestions and present t
hem to the group.\n\nFor more information visit https://firstcoasttea
